"First Date"

Today 4 of my neighbor's five children were all at camp, so we decided to take the youngest ones to lunch...their first date, so-to-speak. (This called for a dress AND painted pink toes) Ha ha. We went to Qdoba and then to the Pet Store. A good time was had by all. Other excursions--swimming and children's museum--may follow later in the week.

Two more episodes

Sunday morning, we asked her if she'd like an egg for breakfast. (These are Daddy's specialty) She agreed with her "mnn-hmmn." When I came back upstairs from summoning her daddy, I found her in front of the refrigerator with the carton of eggs, 2 on the floor and 2 in her hands, happily being "clanged" together without breaking! It was a sight to behold. She surely wanted her egg that morning!

Last night, I asked her if she wanted to sit on the "Pah" before bed. I had bought a new book from Amazon. I read the reviews and decided this would definitely be the book for her. Sure enough, I barely had the book out of the box when she grinned at the sweet little girl on the front cover....Molly Matthews. Oh, how I wish she would come to life....Anyway, we read "Big Girls Use the Potty" and what an exciting sound to hear on about page 4 of the book. I got so excited and she was looking around like "Where did that come from?" It was great. Another small step for the big girl! She now says "Big Girl," though it sounds more like "Big Ghoul."

Neighbors

I consider ourselves so fortunate to have the best neighbors! Growing up, there were very few children in my neighborhood...Little Miss has 5-adopted-siblings right across the street! Here she is hanging with the youngest boy and only girl:

Aunt Kathy and her boyfriend came to meet Miss AK a few weekends ago. What a lovely time! It is a special feeling for a mama to have good friends dote on your baby! :) Auntie was especially patient in showing off her phone to the techno-baby...

Summer Vacation

It's almost been long enough for me to have forgotten my blogging password!  A few highlights from our vacation in North Carolina, early June:

The babe hanging out with Grandpa Angel. We spent several afternoons in the cemetery. Great place for her to run around and not "disturb" anyone!

The townhome we rented overlooked a pond that came with 8 geese, 2 goslings, 3 ducks and 2 turtles. We fed them Cheerios 3x a day. What a blast!

Vacation with a child involves checking out as many parks and swing sets as possible...

Traversing the bridge in the backyard. She has this thing about walking over and over new terrain until she is comfortable with it.
