In the mail today came another one of the brochures from the formula companies...."Feeding Solids to your baby." This one, in particular, had lots of visuals, so as I was feeding Anna, I showed them to her. Colorful spoons, bowls of mush, kids with stuff all over their faces. She seemed rather contented, so I said to J, "Let's try the rice again." We tried it, after coaxing our doctor to give us permission, at the beginning of month 4, but she really was not at all interested. Her tongue reflex was still very strong and she did nothing but scream. Well, today was different! I still wasn't sure how her tongue was doing (babies have what is called a "tongue thrust reflex" that they begin to lose about this time...every baby is different), but we have noticed she is very interested in our food, my morning tea, and licking/sniffing different foods.
So, J mixed up the teaspoon of rice and the milk and she ate the whole thing! She even seemed eager when I put the spoon back into the bowl to get more. It was so cute. See:
This afternoon I was taping something and decided to introduce AK to tape and the word "sticky." Boy, that cracked her up.....Sticky, sticky, sticky and there came that cute laugh....Here she is, several pictures later, gnawing away:

This next picture is of AK in her newest toy, brought to her by the Easter Grandbunny. We've known it's time to graduate from the swing and bouncy seat for a few weeks, so we caved last weekend and bought this station. It was advertised in my baby magazine and is about half the price of some of the "fancy" ones, but is supposed to keep "even the most active baby" occupied. Hmmn, we shall see. I keep telling J to let her "figure" out the toys because if we show her how they work, she'll be bored in a few weeks!! I have a video that I will add as an extra post. During dinner, J spun that flower wheel and as soon as he finished, she spun the flower wheel! She loves the music and lights, too...OF COURSE! She gets this *very pleased look* when ever she activates the buttons. John says "perfect training for a pilot." The floor bounces a bit, so in another inch, she will have a parade with that...
The next pictures are of bath and post-bath rollover. I finally gave in and took a bathtub picture (just so we'd have one for posterity), but as she is partly my child, she was not thrilled and just glared at me! Here she is all wrapped up in her nice warm, just from the dryer, towel (highly recommend that idea to any new parent)....
