What a week it's been. AK almost made it through one year without being sick. For that we are extremely grateful. But this past week, we learned what it is to be scared; really scared. OK, mostly calm, a bit overreactive, and scared all at once! Tuesday morning, she woke up with a temp that spiked to 103 in a period of two hours. In the next 24 hour period, we saw 104 in the digits and our poor baby too weak to even squawk for us. One night, I actually cried. I couldn't bear seeing her so helpless and lifeless.

Fortunately, with modern medicine, the kid was back to herself a few days later. I'd say she's still not 100% as she's lost some weight and is throwing more food than she is eating. But no one can beat her in a crawling race, so there's hope. Here's a pic of her the day before she got sick. We're borrowing the slide from her pal EJ for a month. She loves it! I took a few of her with 101 temp playing on it, but she was just in a diaper and so I won't be posting those.
