If I don't do it *right* now....

it will never get done. That's a lot how things feel these days. But, you know what? I don't care! I am finally to the point in my life where things, stuff, and more stuff don't matter. It's all about the kids. Life is about The Kids. And it is great. I don't think I've ever been this happy and I am enjoying every moment with my children. It has taken me a long time (2 + years) to get to this point, but I am there. And now I understand why people say what they say!

EH had his 2-month appt today and round one of Dtap shot-torture. Give him a bottle and he takes it like a champ. :)

Weight: 12 pounds 8.5 oz...65%...whew. that means there are still bigger ones out there! He has nearly maxed out 0-3 clothes. Wow.

Length: 24 inches...82%...I don't think they ever adjusted his birth length on the chart, but that's OK. Looks like he will be tall after all.

Head circumference: 15.5 inches....31%...she assures me his brain is growing!! She just wants him on a curve and staying on it and he is.

Our little bruiser is 100% healthy. yeah! And what a joy he is....smiling "for real," "talking" up a storm, and even did a great push-up on the doc's table. And still calm as ever. Love that I can say "shh-shh" when I go in to feed him....he stops fussing immediately. What an angel baby. He has given me a part to life I never knew existed. Wow.

And the beauty? Well, she is doing so well, too. Still loves baby brother. Tells him now. Wants him to come along for everything...car rides, outside, story-time...(not like he has a choice most of the time). We made some behavioral (parental and child) changes in the last 2 weeks and I now have "The Power." She listens! Well, 90% of the time. It is so exciting to see her make that change...and me, well, I am much calmer than I ever have been. Wow. It is so fun. Her goal is to get 10 stickers on her chart (basically, she gets one when I "catch" her doing something good....like this morning I had some weird ink stain on my face--how it got there I have no idea--and she kept saying, "Mom, what's that" and pointing....I hardly ever look in the mirror these days, so it forced me to go see! "Silly mama," we concluded after I wiped it off...I hadn't even used a pen yet). When she gets the 10 stickers, we will award her something....no idea yet....maybe one of those bouncy balls with the handles that you sit on and bounce around.

This week her school has celebrated Dr. Seuss. We kept a reading log (1 week) and she read 45 books! That doesn't even include the "read-it-agains." She's up to 9-word sentences (2-9 words). Her verbal skills are incredible....she's also learned how to jump and is working on skipping and bouncing a ball. So fun! She keeps us laughing on a daily basis. The other day I called down the hall, "A?" What did she reply? "Yes, dear." My mimic...that she is.
