Mommys aren't supposed to get sick

Scene One:

Perhaps my extreme fatigue should have been an alert to The Thing that I have and that has taken over our house. (no, it's not mono...they tested for that, too) Friday through Mother's Day was spent in bed and my fevers continued through yesterday. I am holding my breath in hopes that they are over, but am seriously wishing my throat would get better. Never have I experienced such pain and throbbing in the throat. I've even started just grunting at AK and Daddy has taken over the evening stories.

All this to set the beginning of a very hilarious Monday night. The kind reader will infer that the normal chaos has been a little more abnormal with Mommy struck out and Daddy pinch-hitting the entire weekend.

Scene Two:

Post-nap afternoon...playing outside; Mommy has another raging fever and is a bit loopier than  normal. I may have forgotten to change EH near the end of playtime before dinnertime.

Scene Three:

During Monday night dinner, the question is raised, "Who gets a bath tonight?" (Usually it's our night "off") It is decided that it will be EH. Dinner moves through dessert and EH starts crying. Since he has also been on an antibiotic.....well, let's say, we've been going through diapers a bit more rapidly than usual. Daddy goes to check his bottom and....I shouldn't write what he may have said! :) (Oops, I DID forget to change him earlier) Quick plan discussion: we'll bathe him NOW!

Scene Four:

Daddy is upstairs changing EH when I hear: "I need help." It was an AB--no, not you dear Auntie--but an Antibiotic Blowout! I help out at the scene and Daddy says "Ready the bath!" "Should I bring him down naked?"
"Yes!," I say.

Scene Five:

AK is sitting quietly in her seat, eating her ice cream. I am filling the bathtub and Daddy comes down carrying/holding EH. Right as I'm placing the tub on the counter, a little voice says, "He's peein'  " and only nanoseconds later, Daddy lets out a sea of expletives! It was HILARIOUS, considering all our weekend had already been. Just another day in baby/toddler-land.

Scene Six and Final:

Post-bath, EH again pees on me and as usual, I jump a foot in the air and let out a screech, followed by laughter. Poor little guy, my laugh scared him so much, he started to cry! So funny!! [And he hasn't done any "spraying" in a looooooooooong time!] :)

This sounds like something out of "America's Funniest Home Videos." I hope you feel better soon, and I bet John does, too.
