Picnic in the Park

Argh. Today I forgot my camera on an "AK first." We had a picnic at a local park and put her in a baby swing. It was so cute. Picture her in her hat and shades, arms hanging out of the side, just chilling. Adorable.

She had a long day today...spent the morning at church in the nursery. (J had to fly and I had to play) The other day I made my first baby food...a pureed banana half. That did some interesting things inside. I'll leave it at that.

She loves food. We've been joking that if you put anything on the spoon, she'll eat it. Well, today I was reassured that she does indeed have preferences. We've worked our way through Stage One foods (forget the prunes; we really don't need those), except for meats. So today we tried chicken. With our usual excitement, happy faces, and some clucking thrown in as explanation, the first few bites were tolerated, but with increasing levels of frown. Finally, after about the 6th taste, she made a choking sound and gently spit it all out. I said to J, "Well, they say it sometimes takes 8 tries for a new food."

Later, at dinner, we gave her some more and while it was still no peach, pear, or banana, she politely ate what was in the dish.

J cannot understand how anyone can't like chicken.

I find both of them hilarious! :)
