Now, this practice of stand-up, sit-down is a great exercise the baby does to tire herself out. Really great. Except when it is in the bathtub! We've had about a month of peaceful bathing in the big tub...actually the red tub IN the big tub. But, I should have known something was up when she crawled to the tub edge and pulled herself up. I thought that was OK; I figured she'd have too much fun inside to climb out. No, it didn't even occur to me that she might try to get out from inside. Wow. She did not fall, but she did sit hard on her fish rattle and consequently "rinse" was then not fun either. On to more calmer baths later this week...
Yesterday, I took her to practice with me. More as a "trial run" as a crawler. I had scoped out a nice "safe" area, soft carpet, plenty of pews to practice pulling up. Ha. I really need to get on the "one-step ahead" ball.....She promptly crawled alongside the outer side of the wood (opposite side) of the organ, under the pews and found the PLANTS at the front of the sanctuary. Yikes. I don't think she ate them, just pulled out a leaf. I headed her off several times. It made for a very adventurous time for both of us, but as long as I don't have to concentrate too much, it should work in the future! This is where multi-tasking really comes in handy....playing with hands and feet...and eyes in the back and sides of my head turned to find the baby!
