quack, quaCK, QUACK

I may or may not have shared that my simple New Year's resolution is to write down each day
"at least three things that make me happy." Yesterday was a tough(er) day, so I had a little bit of trouble. Now, that is not supposed to sound bad or ungrateful...sure, I could have written "my health" (yes, indeed) or "having a roof over our heads" (especially in this economy), but I like to keep it simple, simple, simple....like "sunshine" or "A ate three meals."

All that to say, today was a fabulous day and I'll have about 7 things tonight! This being one of them:

I love ducks. Absolutely love 'em. Bought a shower curtain early in the last decade and it is now in her bathroom. She has been "quacking" for the word duck since VERY early on...I "quack" and J makes this "quirky quack" sound. She has adopted his and it is very cute. Well, today, on our walk in the neighborhood, we were fortunate to see two geese upclose (far from the pond), several on the pond and 4 ducks! (The geese have been taking over the pond the last few years, so it was so nice to see the ducks again) Well, sure enough, we heard the ducks give their own quacks--from both the air and the pond. It was awesome, simply because she could now connect the "parent" sound to the actual live thing she was seeing. I so wanted to cry. It was soo cool. What a mommy moment!
